Crafting and art groups, workshops and sessions offered to the community in Calgary.
All ages are welcome, children to seniors so we all can enjoy the act of creating something fun.
Art can be beneficial for people working through grief due to a recent death or new diagnosis. Art is usually a positive way for children to express their feelings or thoughts. Art may also be a positive outlet for seniors as it can help with dexterity and cognitive function. I also offer support through 1-on-1 sessions or meetings if you don't want to be in a group setting, but you want (or need) to sit with someone and maybe do something creative. I will you company and provide any support for people in their sobriety journey too - no judgement here. This is a safe space for you.
Some art workshops, sessions and lessons are offered to the community "by donation".
Please note I can offer these 1-on-1 support services either virtually or in person
Calgary Creative Crafts is offered and hosted by Chantal Soucy, a self-taught artist born and raised in Calgary.
Chantal is a passionate maker and creative facilitator who brings people together through hands-on crafting experiences. With a love for color, imagination and experimentation, her work spans a variety of mediums, encouraging participants to explore their creativity in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Through her workshops, Chantal focuses on making art accessible to everyone—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned creator. She believes crafting is not just about the finished piece, but about the joy of the process, the connections formed, and the confidence built along the way.
Her sessions are known for being engaging, supportive, and inspiring, giving participants the tools and freedom to express their unique style while learning new techniques.

Art can help us to emotionally navigate the journey of battling an illness or injury, to process complicated emotions in times of difficulty and challenging events. Therapeutic art sessions in hospice or palliative care helps the bereaved family to form 'continuing bonds' with the patient even after death through the process of creating tangible artwork that lasts after death, thereby assisting the family in coping with loss and bereavement.
A therapeutic art environment creates a calming effect and can help to manage behaviour. Certain types of art can help improve dexterity and motor skills. Seniors who live with chronic pain can find themselves depressed and discouraged. Therapeutic art can relieve that stress and help with pain management.
If you have them you can use them, BUT I DO BRING ALL PAINTS, BRUSHES AND CANVASES FOR YOU & I CLEAN UP WHEN WE ARE DONE.
No - anyone at any time can work with a Death Doula.
Although we do work with those who are at the end of their life or have a terminal diagnosis, we can also help you make decisions for end-of-life care at any stage of your life. We can also help you create personal directives, and even support you while you work through a recent death of a loved person or pet.
